Juhong (Christie) Liu
James Madison University

Juhong Christie Liu, Ph.D., is a Senior Instructional Designer in the Libraries and Educational Technologies at James Madison University. Her teaching includes face-to-face, online asynchronous and synchronous formats. Her research areas focus on engaging student learning in technology-mediated environments, design of Open Educational Resources (OER) for science education, and best practice in teaching with emerging technologies. Christie received her Ph.D. in Instructional Design and Technology from Virginia Tech. She published in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters; and presented at international, national, and regional conferences. She was an AECT PacifiCorp Design Competition finalist and a best-in- track presenter at the Online Learning Consortium 2013 Blended Learning Conference. As the current President of Society of International Chinese in Educational Technology (SICET), Juhong serves on the International Advisory Board for HKAECT 2017 International Research Symposium and on the Editorial Board of Journal of Educational Technology Development and Exchange (JETDE). Christie is currently the Co-PI of a collaborative NSF granted project on OER design for geoscience education (NSF #1611798 & #1611917).
