Distance Learning
President Elect

Rebecca Reese
Laramie County Community College

I am the Senior Instructional Designer for Laramie County Community College (LCCC) and Adjunct Professor at Southern Utah University. AECT has been my professional home since joining as a graduate student in 2007. As an active member of AECT, I have had the opportunity to assist with the Design & Development showcase, participate in the PacifiCorp competition, and serve as proposal reviewer for the divisions of DDL, D&D, and RTD.

I am involved with the development and implementation of LCCC’s Online Campus, and work with our e-learning team to engage faculty in the design, development and implementation of collaborative online learning environments. I hold leadership roles within my college and through educational associations, such as ITC. My research projects have primarily focused on implementation of emerging technologies, and incorporation of game theory into online environments to enhance knowledge transfer and reduce cognitive load; and expanded application of social media for the professional development and onboarding of higher education faculty.

If chosen to serve as President-elect, I will work with all members to advance the vision and goals of the Division of Distance Learning by promoting opportunities for collaboration within the division, organization, and field. I believe DDL has a strong role to play in AECT and aim to identify strategies that foster increased membership, and connections with other organizational divisions. I look forward to the possibility of serving you as DDL President-elect and fulfilling this three-year commitment.
