Kenyon Gannon
Piedmont College

Dr. Kenyon Gannon began his career as an educator by teaching French at both high school and college levels. Discovering a love of learning and teaching with technology through the creation of education resources to help his students, he decided to pursue advanced studies in instructional design and technology. Kenyon completed his Ph.D. in instructional technology at the University of Georgia and currently works as Associate Professor of Education at Piedmont College. At Piedmont, he co- developed, and teaches courses in, graduate programs in instructional technology. In addition to teaching, he also serves as coordinator for distance learning. In this capacity, Kenyon has helped Piedmont create and implement quality standards for online and hybrid courses. He also developed and delivers a faculty training program that prepares faculty to teach online. Faculty completing this program offer exemplary learning experiences for students on both of Piedmont's campuses as well as dozens of cohort locations within school districts across north Georgia.

Kenyon serves as the chair of Piedmont's instructional technology committee consisting of faculty representation from all schools within the college. He has provided technology consultation to all academic units at the college, including faculty senate, academic deans, and executive administration. Currently, Kenyon is administering a collegewide review of the Canvas learning management system to enhance the use of technology for academic content delivery, collaboration between both faculty and students, assessment, enrollment/retention, and data analytics.
